    At 14:47 this afternoon our Reading Data Centre experienced a two second power outage which resulted customers temporarily losing Server service.

    Our early investigation indicates an issue in our second power fail over which did not perform as expected. We are already liaising with the power switch manufacturers to undertake a complete forensic analysis.

    We have deployed all additional resources to the Reading Data Centre to assist with the situation. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused and be reassured that we will take all necessary steps to protect against power loss in the future.

Intermittent connectivity issues (Resolved)

  • From our data centre:

    Earlier this evening we started to experience intermittent connectivity issues with segments of our network.  Our core networking team identified the issue as a very significant, distributed denial of service attack that was saturating some of our upstream providers, with some customers experiencing drops in connectivity . 

    The traffic has been identified and re-routed, with normal service being restored as quickly as possible.

    The traffic will be intensely monitored throughout the night to ensure normal service continues and we will provide further updates as necessary.
